Resisting the Devil is Power Part I
- To defeat the Devil, you must resist him mentally. Withstand every wicked and evil thought he presents to your mind. God has given you the power to fight, overcome, repel, and oppose every wicked thought that comes against the knowledge of God.
- Ephesians 4:26-27- When you don’t give place to the Devil, you don’t allow him to position you to establish his wicked dominion over your mind. If you give place to the Devil your spirit, soul and body will produce evil deeds and actions to sin.
- Ephesians 6:10-11- God said stand. Don’t run away, don’t give in, or accept the wiles of the Devil. You are commanded to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. The wiles of the Devil ensnare, deceive, trick, charm, bewitch and lure you to compromise and become lukewarm.
- James 4:7- Submission to God is using your will to resist the Devil. When the Devil sees a Christian using their will to be submissive to God, he feels that power and flees.
- Romans 6:12-13- Submission to Christ is when you yield your spirit, soul, and body to obey this scripture.
- 1 Peter 5:8-9- A vigilant Christian does not fear the Devil because he roars like a lion. A vigilant Christian is alert and knows how to avoid danger. To be steadfast in the faith means you are firmly devoted, faithful, and determined to please God. The Devil sees that determination and flees.
